Hanukkah in Mukachevo City!

On December 9, 2012, Jews of the entire world commenced celebration of a joyful holiday of Hanukkah which lasts for 8 days. Origin of the holiday gets back to events of remote past when Jews gain victory over Greeks and were able to consecrate their desecrated temple with a small olive oil menorah. The oil has been burning for 8 days and it was a great miracle!

Beit Hased Charity together with Charity Fund Hased Shpira organized celebration of the last day of Hanukkah on December 16. Children aged from 2 to 16 got together with their parents and started celebration with lighting up all candles on menorah. Kids were told about the holiday history, there were intersting contests and games and they even had a chance to dance. Everyone was treated with sweet doughnuts, traditional delicacies of Hanukkah. And of course, there was the most pleasant part of the holiday – every kid received presents with favourite candies and sweeties. A light was kindling in childrens eyes not only from menorah but also because of joy and happiness. And this is the greatest miracle!
